Where Craft Meets Community: Discover Ubud Artisan Market 2026

Yayasan Mudra Swari Saraswati proudly presents the return of the Ubud Artisan Market (UAM), a curated marketplace that celebrates creativity, community, and high-quality local craftsmanship. Embracing a spirit of togetherness and exploration, UAM offers visitors the opportunity to connect directly with talented creative practitioners from Indonesia and beyond. More than just a market, UAM serves as a space for sharing, learning, and celebrating the diversity of creative practices—from those rooted in tradition to those evolving in contemporary forms.

This year, UAM once again features The Weaving Stories, a program dedicated to celebrating the textile heritage of the Indonesian archipelago. The program is made even more special by the presence of artisans from Jayapura, Papua, supported by Torajamelo and The Samadha Institute. In addition, young artisans from Kapuas Hulu, Central Kalimantan, are ներկայաց by Tradisi Textile and Mahakarya Tenun. Their participation offers visitors a rare opportunity to engage directly with living traditions that continue to be preserved today.

UAM further enriches the visitor experience through cross-community collaborations and the participation of artisans from diverse backgrounds. Whispers of Stone from Taiwan and Heycyann, a semi-permanent natural tattoo artist from Singapore, bring unique cross-cultural perspectives. Meanwhile, local artisans showcase a wide range of products, including jewelry, textiles, and other handcrafted works. The atmosphere is further enlivened by interactive activities such as workshops, discussions, and community programs hosted by Black Hand Gang, Jalan Gembira, Urban Stride, and other creative initiatives. Visitors can also enjoy free dance-based programs, including a Pendet dance session with Ibu Mamik & Kultara and a Mentawai tattoo demonstration by Kulok Manai.

“Ubud Artisan Market has always been envisioned as a warm and open space where people can connect not only with the works, but also with the stories and the people behind them. We hope every visitor leaves with an experience that feels personal and meaningful,” said Janet DeNeefe, Founder and Director of Ubud Artisan Market.

To celebrate the Easter season, UAM also presents Bunny & Friends: Gentle Animal Encounter, an interactive and educational experience with rabbits. Open to both children and adults, the program is carefully supervised to ensure safe and comfortable interactions, while encouraging participants to develop empathy and a sense of responsibility toward animals.

The Ubud Artisan Market will take place from April 3 to 5, 2026, from 11:00 AM to 8:00 PM WITA at Taman Baca Ubud, Jl. Raya Sanggingan. The event is open to the public free of charge. Over the course of three days, visitors can explore more than 70 local brands from Bali and across Indonesia, enjoy a diverse selection of culinary offerings, and participate in a wide range of activities, including workshops, a kids’ corner, community programs, weaving demonstrations, discussions, and live music performances.
