Gianyar Cultural Week Inspires Youth Through Spontaneous Painting Event

The activity highlighted the cultural heritage of Gianyar Regency, with participants channeling their imagination into paintings that depicted temples, historical sites,  to the typical Balinese landscape and cultural symbols that thrive within the community.

The Head of the Gianyar Regency Cultural Office, I Wayan Adi Perbawa, stated that the spontaneous painting activity represents a concrete effort to nurture emerging visual artists from an early age. “Through activities like this, we aim to provide a space for children and teenagers to express themselves boldly and develop their talents in visual arts,” he said.

He emphasized that continuous development is essential for Gianyar Regency to maintain its reputation as a center of art and culture, particularly in painting. Regenerating artists, he noted, is key to preserving and advancing artistic heritage in the face of changing times.

Adi Perbawa also expressed hope that the event would serve not only as a competition, but as a platform for education and artistic appreciation. In this way, the younger generation can move beyond being mere spectators to becoming active participants in preserving and developing local cultural arts.
